The Department of Agriculture Western Australia has developed a downloadable tool to help wheat growers compare characteristics of up to 55 varieties of wheat. It has been written as an Excel spreadsheet so you will need Microsofts Excel installed on you computer to be able to use it. The file is over 7 megabytes in size and will take between 1 to 2 hours to download depending on the speed of your internet connection. For full instructions click the Read on.. link below. Instructions: Click here to go to the Dept. of Ag. WA page where you can download the Excel Spreadsheet. Make sure to RIGHT CLICK (click right mouse button) on the link on their page to the file, then from the menu that pops up, choose Save Target as... and save it in your My Documents folder (or somewhere where you can find it later!) You can rename it to something more meaningful if you wish(ie. Wheat Varieties Guide) Then a small screen will appear telling you roughly how long it will take to download. Don't close this until it's finished. You can still surf the web, check email etc, while this is downloading but it may increase the time it takes to download the file. Once the file has finished downloading you can open it in Excel and learn all about the different wheat varieties. |
