Notes on Grade & Income Calculation

Yield

An analysis of variance was conducted on yield results.  A Least Significant Difference (LSD) was calculated with a confidence interval of 95% and displayed in the above table.  In comparing two yields, the difference between them must be greater than the LSD for there to be a statistically significant difference.

Grade Classification

A sample of each variety was retained at harvest and analysed for protein, hectolitre weight and screenings.  A grade was allocated based on the AWB varietal classification and the results of the quality analysis.

Income

A price was calculated using the Estimated Silo Return to the nearest CBH delivery point.
AWB Golden Rewards grade and quality payment scales were applied on the 9th December 2002.
These results assume the appropriate service is available at the nearest CBH.
