Purpose: To provide the latest information to agricultural businesses in the local community by conducting appropriate local research to enhance our social and economic well being.
Vision: Faming for our future
When we started, over 20 years ago, we drew up our constitution which included our objectives. These have held up well over the years and so are listed below
- To promote farmer education in all aspects relevant to an agricultural environment
- To foster an approach to agricultural extension that is creative and attractive to members
- To encourage farmers to participate in and make available resources to help further agricultural related education
- To encourage better communication between agricultural industries for the betterment of the farmers lot and the industry generally
- To encourage farmers to experiment and make available results to members and industry
- To conduct field days, meetings, seminars and conferences on such topics related to the business and social needs of members
- To liaise and cooperate with agricultural institutions for the furthering of knowledge
- To encourage and cooperate with agricultural and/or other research institutions to conduct research and compile results of officially recorded work
- To conduct research and investigations complying with standards and guidelines approved by Departments of Agriculture or other recognized technical authorities
From these we have build a strong foundation on which the CFIG has been based. Some of the things we have achieved over the last 20 years are:
- Lupin Pod to Bin Day
- Purchase of 2 tree planters for hire
- Purchase or a ripper mounder for hire
- Design and purchase of a weigh trailer for hire
- Three Agchem field days
- Running of 2 yearly field walks, winter and spring each year
- And numerous seminars, special field days, etc.
So have a look round and see what the Corrigin Farm Improvement Group has to offer you.
